Duplicate Tabs Closer: Close Duplicate Tabs with Ease
Duplicate Tabs Closer is a free Chrome add-on developed by Peuj that aims to detect and close duplicate tabs. With this tool, users can easily manage their browsing experience by eliminating redundant tabs.
The latest versionbrings a fix for a popup UI issue, ensuring a smoother user experience. In previous updates, code optimizations were implemented, the UI was updated, and several bugs were fixed. Additionally, new features were introduced, such as a collapsible "Options" menu, a shrunk mode to hide unpinned options, and a custom option to close the popup panel after closing duplicate tabs.
The add-on offers various options for handling duplicate tabs. Users can choose to automatically close duplicate tabs or simply monitor them, with the badge icon indicating the number of duplicates detected. Moreover, users can configure the behavior of the remaining tab after a duplicate is closed, either activating it or applying the default tab behavior.
Duplicate Tabs Closer also provides a whitelist feature, allowing users to specify URLs that should not be closed automatically. The add-on supports wildcards for flexible URL matching. Additionally, users can set priority options to determine which tab to keep when closing duplicates, based on factors such as tab age, scheme (https), and pin status.
With scope options, users can choose to close/display duplicate tabs within the active window or across all windows. The add-on also offers a convenient hotkey (Alt+Shift+W) for closing all duplicate tabs.
